Wavestone is on a path to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions

(AOF) – As part of its CSR approach, Wavestone is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in the short and long term, in accordance with the Net-Zero Standard of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) which allows companies to define a reduction trajectory, consistent with limiting global warming to 1.5°C (objective of the Paris Agreement).

This commitment involves reducing its emissions to reach a carbon footprint close to zero by 2050 and neutralizing its residual emissions thereafter.

As part of this commitment, Wavestone will submit its reduction targets for 2025 and 2050 to SBTi for validation.

Wavestone’s new reduction targets are more ambitious and relate to all emissions emitted (scope 1, 2 and 3). In the short term by 2025, Wavestone is committed to reducing its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 25%, and its scope 3 emissions by 35% per employee.

In the long term by 2050, Wavestone is committed to reducing its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 90%, and its scope 3 emissions by 97% per employee.

For its reference year, the firm has chosen to use the 2019/20 fiscal year for which its carbon footprint corresponds to a nominal situation before the effects of the health crisis.

The priority measures to achieve these new objectives concern the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions linked to business travel (in particular by plane), to digital equipment and uses, or to the purchase of goods and services (in particular hotels and catering services).

To reduce its carbon footprint linked to the energy consumption of its premises, the firm is aiming for a transition to 100% renewable electricity for all of its sites, including those deployed in a country with a high carbon energy mix.

To meet the climate challenge, Wavestone wishes to act not only on the footprint of its activities, but also with its customers, by supporting them in their ecological transition challenges.

To achieve this, the firm invests in the training of its employees and its structure, with the creation of a new Sustainability activity and the recent acquisition of Nomadéis.
