A new color for this Scrambler? Yes, but more. Triumph has decided to create a collection of motorcycles under the Gold Line label. The whole Bonneville family is concerned, with a dose of cosmetic refinement as a precept. Beautiful colors accompanied by a fine brushstroke giving all its consistency to the idea.
She grabs hold of the reservoir, the centerpiece of the Gold Line edition. A gold line runs around the edges to highlight the color trio. After marking its name on the right bank, it undertakes to imprison knee pads in brushed aluminum. The belly of the Scrambler does not become the identity of the machine but presents the mark of nobility of this special series.
Who also wants to be limited. Not in number; in duration. All Gold Lines will be for one. A vintage enhanced with chic, one might say. The manufacturer does not undertake particular technical specifications for its large Scrambler, equipped with the twin 1200 widely used in the Modern Classics.
The two cylinders are developers of 90 horsepower and a maximum torque of 11.2 mkg. A strength that we appreciate in its depth rather than in its performance. The block is alive and knows how to show it. We will soon be caught up in the game of high-end country outings, because this machine respects the rules of the genre. Its pretensions of a roadster with long legs taunting the clods of earth are as follows: spoked rims, Metzeler Tourance large cobblestone tires, dimensions more trail than bitumen with 90 / 90 – 21 and 150 / 70 – 17, significant suspension travel of 200 mm, skid plate and gentlemen rider equipment.
The 1200 Scrambler XC features premium Brembo M50 brake calipers, Öhlins shocks, Showa 45mm inverted fork, 5 Riding Modes, responsive ABS and traction control at the corner, a TFT dashboard and a price that does not encourage fooling around on paths or gravel. 800 euros more for the beautiful realization of the tank, which puts it practically at the price of the XE. Which also exists in Gold Line definition.
