The Paris Court of Appeal decided on Thursday April 14 to await the outcome of the criminal proceedings for violation against the renowned lawyer Alex Ursulet, before deciding on his disbarment from the bar, we learned from a judicial source.
Accused of rape by a former intern, Alex Ursulet was struck off the Paris Bar at the end of December 2019 by the Council of the Order. The criminal lawyer, who disputes the facts, had appealed this decision.

In December 2021, he was indicted for “rape by person in authorityand placed under judicial supervision. On Wednesday, the Court of Appeal ordered a stay of proceedings, pending a final decision in the criminal proceedings, said a judicial source, confirming information from Martinique la Première.
The accused still in exercise since his appeal
Former partner of Jacques Vergès and son of the former president of Fort-de-France, Alex Ursulet made himself known by getting his client Guy Georges to publicly confess his crimes during his trial at the assizes in 2001.

The latter completed an internship in her Paris office in January 2018 as part of her training. In her complaint, she recounts having been raped there by Alex Ursulet, after a lunch where the latter would have been insistent. She produces witness statements and copies of text messages.
Me Ursulet for his part filed a complaint for “slanderous denunciation“, but also for “fake” and “attempted fraud in judgment“. After two days in police custody in June 2020 and a confrontation with the complaint where “everyone (had) remained on their positions“, according to the comment at the time of a source close to the file, the prosecution opened a judicial investigation for “rape by person in authorityand asked for his indictment.
Alex Ursulet initially emerged free from the interrogation before the investigating judge, under the status of assisted witness, intermediate between that of simple witness and that of indicted.
