The ozone pollution alert procedure in force this Tuesday in Alsace should be lifted this Wednesday, announces the Atmo Grand Est air quality monitoring association.
A rainy episode should indeed cross the region from west to east, “limiting ozone concentrations below regulatory thresholds”. “The procedures will therefore be lifted in all the departments of the Grand Est” this Wednesday, July 20, specifies this press release.
A contrasting situation
On closer inspection, the air quality remains heterogeneous, however, and may remain very bad locally, especially in urban areas, indicates a detailed map of the uses.
This so-called “summer” episode of pollution is linked to the combination of human activities (road traffic, industries, residential, etc.) and strong solar radiation, associated with high temperatures.
