The prosecution appealed the decision rendered Tuesday, June 21 by the judges, concerning an unintentional release of hydrocarbons in the Twelve. The defendant was given a suspended fine of 15,000 euros.
15,000 euros suspended for 1,500 liters of hydrocarbons spilled into the Twelve. This is the decision taken on Tuesday, June 21 by the magistrates of the judicial court of Mont-de-Marsan. The sentence did not convince the public prosecutor, who requested a fine of 10,000 euros against the SCEA Le Piatat for the attack on fish and the attack on fauna and flora.
The unintentional release of hydrocarbons was observed in early January 2021 in the town of Mauvezin-d’Armagnac.
The guilt, recognized by the defendant and recorded by the court, is not the subject of the appeal. It is the quantum of the sentence that motivates the prosecution to make this limited appeal.
