Morocco hosts the 14th edition of the US Africa Business Summit

The Kingdom of Morocco is hosting the 14th edition of the US Africa Business Summit from July 19 to 22, 2022. “Building the future together” is the theme of the meeting organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA).

From July 19 to 22, 2022, the 14th edition of the US Africa Business Summit will take place in Marrakech. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Morocco through a press release brought the information to the attention of the public.

According to the press release from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the choice of Morocco to organize the event for the first time in North Africa, reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to the sustainable development of the African continent, and to better integration of its economies into global value chains.

This also testifies to the common desire to reposition Africa in international trade flows, in a context of post-Covid economic recovery, and reconfiguration of the international economic chessboard, the statement said.

This Summit, according to the Moroccan Ministry of Industry and Trade, represents an opportunity to offer the strategic positioning of Morocco, the only African country to have concluded a free trade agreement with the United States as a hub for Africa and reference economic partner of the United States.

The 14th edition of the US Africa Business Summit will see the participation of a large American government delegation, African ministers and decision-makers from the largest American multinationals, and African business circles. It will be an opportunity to establish future-oriented US-Morocco-Africa tripartite partnerships.

According to the press release, this Summit will be marked by the holding of high-level dialogues, plenary sessions, panels, round tables and side-events around the continent’s priorities in terms of food security, health, agriculture, energy transition, new technologies, infrastructures and integration of industrial ecosystems.

Created in 1993, the CCA is the principal private American organization activated on Africa. It organizes the US-Africa Business Summit annually in order to promote, on the one hand, business and investment opportunities between the United States and African countries, and, on the other hand, to establish partnerships in a win-win approach.
