Cooperation: Abidjan hosts the European Union – West Africa Business Forum

“Transformation of West African economies through a strengthened partnership between the European and West African private sectors”, is the theme to be held from June 16 to 17, 2022 in Abidjan, the Business Forum. It is a business forum between the European Union and West Africa.

The event is at the first edition. It is organized in collaboration with the General Confederation of Businesses of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI). Its purpose is to increase the potential attractiveness of Côte d’Ivoire for private investors and to stimulate trade between ECOWAS countries and the European Union, with the aim of boosting FDI and growth. economic .

Around 150 companies from the EU and ECOWAS are expected to attend this forum. This business meeting will also be an opportunity for exchanges between the government and the private sector, within the framework of B2G (Business to Government). These B2G meetings will concern the ministers of West Africa in charge of African Integration, Economy, Investment and EPAs, specify the organizers.

The Forum will be an opportunity for inspiring personalities, experts, men and women from diverse backgrounds to come together during panels and conferences in order to share and discuss their backgrounds and experiences.

A real interface instrument between the West African and European private sectors, this forum will facilitate the sharing of information on the potential for development and investment in West Africa in the priority value chains which are among others the agro-industrial, tropical fruits, ICT, building and public works, energy.

The forum will also work towards a constructive dialogue for the improvement of the business climate in West Africa and the facilitation of trade between West Africa and the European Union.
