Bitcoin (BTC), supporters can buy their tickets!

Oxford City Football Club has decided to accept bitcoin (BTC) for the purchase of tickets for its matches. The club would then become the first football club in the National League to accept payments in BTC. Note that this is a 6th division club in England.

According a tweet from Watcher.Guru on August 3, “Oxford City FC accepts bitcoin as payment for matchday tickets in partnership with CoinCorner“. Sixth division English football club Oxford City will be adopting this new payment method very soon. He intends to use Lightning Network to allow his fans to pay for tickets to his matches in bitcoins (BTC).

In fact, supporters could also buy food and drinks with this method. Obviously, the club still intends to accept other means of payment, namely: cash and card. In addition, the players of this club will wear jerseys on which we will find the bitcoin logo.

You should know that Oxford City Football Club has signed a partnership that will last several years with CoinCorner. The latter is a Bitcoin company based in the Isle of Man. As a sponsor of club matches, he will also have his logo on the players’ shirts. The company recently posted a limited edition Oxford City FC Bolt card in honor of the new partnership.

According to CoinCorner CEO Danny Scott, Oxford City Football Club is the “first adopter of BTC payments in the National League”. Danny wants this initiative to create “a trend in all National League and Football League divisions” in the country.

Far from having dampened my enthusiasm, an unsuccessful investment in a cryptocurrency in 2017 only increased my enthusiasm. I therefore resolved to study and understand the blockchain and its many uses and to relay with my pen information relating to this ecosystem.
