Anti-pollution measures: strong announcements, timid controls

Exceeding the ozone threshold in the air led the prefect to prohibit the circulation of excessively polluting vehicles in the city center of Marseille and to lower the speed limits by 20 km/h on the major axes of the department. While a similar measure is permanently planned from September, the means of verification are limited for the time being to “traditional” road checks and the automatic speed cameras are not reprogrammed.
